Ομιλητής: Petra Fürst - Communications Trainer and Artflorist

ΨΗΦΙΑΚΗ ΤΑΥΤΌΤΗΤΑ-Από το ψηφιακό ALTER EGO στη σχέση με την πραγματικότητα.
Ψηφιακή Ταυτότητα. Τί είναι αυτό; Σήμερα κάθε χρήστης του Διαδικτύου έχει τουλάχιστον μια ψηφιακή ταυτότητα και αποκτά κοινωνικές επαφές μέσω Facebook, StudiVZ και άλλων χώρων. Με μια ματιά στο «Τί» και το «Πώς» και μια μικρή βόλτα στο «Γιατί» παίρνουμε μια ιδέα της επιρροής των δικτύων, των εντος δικτύου παιχνιδιών κτο, στη ζωή μας και ιδίως στη ζωή των νέων. Πώς ορίζεται η ύπαρξη μας «εντός» δικτύου; Ποιά η σχέση μας «εκτός δικτύου»; Γιατί είμαστε διαφορετικοί εντός και εκτός δικτύου;
εξυπηρετούν;

May 7 was an informative and fun evening and was enjoyed by about 30 guests in the pleasant atmosphere of the Enger Hof. Here some of the high lights:
Lutz Lessmann talked about the Reggio Emilia school concept, also from first hand experience since his children attend this school.
Great attention is given to the look and feel of the classroom where an atmosphere of playfulness and joy pervades. It is often referring to the environment as the "third teacher". An environment, rich in possibilities and provocations that invite the children to undertake extended explorations and engage in problem solving.
In summary: If children are guided to understand themselves as originators and inventors and discover the joy to research and discover, their interest and motivation will explode.
The question is: are the same principles also helpful for adults? Some interesting discussions followed.
Carla Purtschert Voss “reported” on her first hand experience living together with her choice of kin. Young and old living together in a common sustainable environment and socially committed. The theory sounds good, but the day by day practice turns out to be more difficult and could be suitable to only a few select people. Questions remain to be answered, especially on how a growing older generation will be “part” of our community.
Michael Bonke, the Solar Gourmet was the last minute “surprise” presentation. We all got a lesson on how to build a solar cooker out of cardboard and aluminum foil. It certainly makes you more aware of an alternate clean and free source of energy, something that could be a necessity in the future. Find out more at: http://www.solargourmet.de/
The final treat: we could sample some potatoes which were solar cooked earlier that day. Perfect!!
All in all the evening was a great success with thought provoking presentations and interesting discussions.
The next YouCan talk will not take place in the art gallery of Jan Piepenbrock. as originally planned, but we are planning a special event at the gallery later this year.
Our new location for May, a recommandation of Claudia Seidensticker , is the hotel restaurant Enger Hof .
The Topics
"You must be the change that you want to see in this world" (Mahatma Ghandi)
Petra Fürst will talk about, that EVERYTHING always begins with ourselves. For example, any change that we want to see in other people. Of course also interpersonal communication plays a role (my favorite). But also: how are we perceived by others, what do we radiate out and more ...

Living Together with My Choice of Kin
Young and old living together in a common sustainable environment and socially committed; people from all stages of life sharing a community and aspiring to be more than just good neighbours. How can this vision become a reality? Can this be the future of housing in an individualized society like ours? Reporting on an experiment that is already happening, to which many people from many places are committed.

The Reggio Emilia Approach
The Reggio Emilia Approach is an educational philosophy focused on preschool and primary education. It was started by the parents of the villages around Reggio Emilia in Italy They felt that it is in the early years of development that children are forming who they are as an individual. This led to creation of a program based on the principles of respect, responsibility, and community through exploration and discovery in a supportive and enriching environment.

looking back Feb. 12, 2009
Petra Fürst, communications trainer and master-florist came form Hagen, 80 km away, to moderate for the evening.
Around 30 guests found their way to the quaint Clube Portugues and enjoyed the presentations along with good food and drinks.
With Thomas Schürmann , the guests enjoyed not only a presentation on attentiveness in communication, but also could appreciate an exeptional personality. In closing he quoted from the movie Hotspot: "She got what she wanted and I got what I deserved" and he did receive a well earned applause.
Inga Palme opened her presentation with the words: "I must be crazy to do this to myself!" But she has done well and in short form, she told the second story of Helping and Happiness. And thanks to the initiative of Martina Bruns and Ulrich Schroeter even 18 booklets were sold among the guests in support of a good cause.
Das Leben ist kein Ponyhof - ("life is not easy")
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the film project by the 12th grade students of the Annette von Droste Hülshoff Gymnasiums in Duesseldorf Benrath. With this project "Das Leben ist kein Ponyhof" the motivated group of young students, under the leadership of Jonas Zimmermann, address current problems of young people. The very authentic presentation as seen through the eyes of teenagers kept the audience at attention during the showing of a five minute trailer and it was rewarded with much applause.
For the production of the main film a total of 750,00 € is required (maily for rental of camera equipment). With "Anteilscheinen" (like shares) guests could contribute and participate in the project. All in all, the sum of 190,00 € was raised that evening. For more information on the current status of the project click > here.

The Anteilscheine are available in domination of 10,00 €, 20,00 € and 50,00 €. The buyers of "shares" will receive ongoing information about the status of the project, be named on the sponsor list, and will be invited for the opening presentation of the film in May.
Those wishing to support this project can contact: Wilfried Ifland wilfried.ifland@youcan-trust.org or Jonas Zimmermann 19Jonny91@web.de
Petra Fürst also emphsized again, how important it is, especially in todays times, to support young people. It is our social resposibility. Wilfried Ifland thanked all present for making this a sucsessful evening and promised even better presentations in the future. With this remark he reaped almost violent protest, but well meaning protest! Never the less everyone was impressed with the evenings performance.
All guests participated in lively discussions and some new connections with possible cooperations were the result of this evening.
The next YouCan talk will be on May 7th, 2009. Register here inga.palme@youcan-trust.org
Thomas Bergk´s motto is: Rain lets the grass grow tall, but wine fosters conversation. As a sommelier, he must know.
So come and spend a great evening in the quaint Clube Portugues, surrounded by antique furniture, with sumptuous delicacies and wine, with stimulating presentations and abounding conversation.
The Topics
Attentiveness in Communication
othing beats the quality of giving another your full attention when communicating. It is the best way to let the person immediately know that you are fully tuned into what he or she is saying. Of equal importance is the ability to perceive the other person in his or her entirety, including all the facets and peculiarities of the person’s personality. In addressing not only the creative and specialized aspects that come up, but also by specifically adjusting these to the personal concerns of your customer, you are in a better position to land a successful outcome in your discussions.

Networked World, knitted World
Or, what does a knitting snail named Wann-Da have to do with an Indian programmer from Calcutta? More than one might believe. The second Flea and Bear story begins in Russia out in the big wide world around the corner and spans from there a huge arc as it continues to knit-loop and network

looking back Nov. 11, 2008
On November 5, 2008 the first "YouCan-Talk" event took place in the Duesseldorf Barco-Lounge
Wilfried Ifland opened the evening of presentations with the words
"tonight everything may go wrong since it is the first evening of our
YouCan-Talk event-series".Well, as stated, Murphy´s law held true: If
anything can go wrong, it will. But in spite of some technical problems
and the somewhat poor acoustics, the audience was listening attentively
and engaged in lively discussions.
The topics of the evening:
What will the future offer?
Siggi Becker presented possible future scenarios. What "future" will become reality? Was everything we consider today as reality at one time "future"? A subject which leaves us with many open questions.
Changing Communication
Wilfried Ifland presented the diversity of modern communication methods. Unfortunately the internet connection failed and many interesting features could not be demonstrated. One example, the lady on the left is the result of multimedia research at the Frauenhofer Institute, a speaking avatar. How does it work? > Webseite (only works with Internet Explorer)
Self-fullfillment meets diet!
Bigga Rodeck
showed the opportunities but also the risks of a (western) society in
which self-fulfillment is at the top of the agenda. This is in stark
contrast to Far East believes, in these cultures, the community is in
the foreground.
The presentation in format for download >hier (in German)
An inspiring evening with interesting and lively discussions.

We thank TB Computer for the technical support and also thank you Tim for keeping us on schedule - watching out that our presentations don´t get too long (ten minutes!).
A big THANK YOU to all participants, guests and speakers for making our first YouCan-Talk event a successful one.
The next YouCan-Talk event will be on February 12, 2009.

Communication in Change
Guide to Digital Storytelling
Communication as Innovation, with the technical possibilities of a networked world, treads a different path, a path that goes beyond existing media borders. TV, telephone and Internet converge and create new forms of communications. These will have profound impacts on both our professional as well as our private lives.
Speaker: Wilfried Ifland - Chairman of YouCan Trust
Where is the future?
Future does exist only in our imagination. Plenty of future has he who can imagine many different futures. Far and extreme futures can be a compass and filter to understand the present and its potentials. Just now in times of crisis we can save the future by exploring the plurality of futures through information, fantasy and creativity.
Speaker: Siggi Becker (Prize Winner: Grimme Online Award 2007)
Self-realisation or self- feeding?
Looking in the world from a western point of view, individualism is an important value. A value, that only sometimes matches to a responsibility to society. Other times, man prefers not to work at all, than to work in an unloved job. What kind of constructions of world exist, witch can give us some possibilities, to differ between self – realisation and egoism?
Spoken thoughts of Bigga Rodeck, social pedagogue and information scientist CompuSense
