How modern technologies will change Education and create the Entrepreneurial Society of the 21st Century

The Gymnasium Annette-von-Droste-Huelshoff of Düsseldorf has applied to participate in this year’s FOCUS Student Competition „School Creates Future“. The above mentioned theme is based on the competition areas Information and Communications (3), Economy (2), and Media (5).

We believe that new technologies such as Social Web or Web 2.0 will change the educational landscape in schools. Learning will be democratized through the Social Web. Collaboration with other students will expose them to debate and discussion with responsibility and future orientation. Teaching from the front by one person will be supplemented by students learning with and from each other. In the long term, the teacher will develop into a mentor.

The FOCUS Competition includes a presentation of the theme as part of the assignment. Our preferred date is the 22nd of March in the Auditorium of the Annette-von-Droste-Huelshoff Gymnasium. In the middle of May we will know whether our “entrepreneur@school” team is among the 20 best and qualified to take part in the final selection process in Berlin.

The presentation on this evening is a kind of “warm-up” for Berlin. We look forward to active participation. All guests will have the opportunity to provide written feedback on the presentation and we thank you for your participation and support of the team!
